Thank you from Spirit for receiving your own unique and Wearable art, Healing wrap or Poncho.
I am honoured to have brought this through for you and I know just how much Spirit supports your Soul’s growth and expansion, as you embrace this wearable tool. Adding this tool to your medicine bundle can bring gifts such as, feelings of grounding, nurturing, connection and possible healing into your energy bodies.
People have reported feelings of physically buzzing, warmth, heightened emotions for example when they first meet their medicine wrap. Some have had inner visions or connected with memories etc. All of this is ok.
If you have questions, feel free to reach out.
Using your Medicine wrap
Physically wearing your Healing wrap would be the usual way in which to use this tool but there are other ways to connect with its energies, wisdom, guidance and support.
Some suggestions I offer: sleep with your piece on or under your pillow, or on your feet to connect in with its potent energies. Your intuition will guide you as you begin to work with its medicine.
Lay the wrap across your lap or shoulders, or perhaps sit on it and when the weather is warm perhaps have it rolled up on your bedside table when sleeping.
Whilst in ritual or ceremony your medicine wrap could become part of the altar decoration rather than be worn.
Caring for your Medicine wrap
Firstly, I would highly suggest you listen to your intuition or inner guidance as to how to wear, use, care for, clean and dry your wrap. Even if it sounds a little weird, listen in and follow as best you can.
For me, I keep my own wraps rolled up and on my altar. I use them for meditations, ceremonies and ritual work.
I treat my wrap with the respect that Spirit has sent it through to me, grateful for its guiding support for my highest good in this lifetime.
Washing your Medicine wrap
Your unique piece of wearable art is created with a range of natural and manmade fibres. These include wool, alpaca, mohair, acrylic and combinations of these.
It is important to take care of your wrap with these fibre combinations as the natural fibres may mat or tangle.
All care for your beautiful piece has been taken and now for you, I highly recommend you DO NOT put it in the washing machine or clothes dryer.
- My own pieces I wash gently in a backet or laundry tub in warm soapy water, agitating my wrap gently, then rinse.
- Lay your wet wrap flat on a large towel or 2 and roll to squeeze out the water into the towels. Do not wring out the wet wrap. This may put undue pressure on the stitches.
- Lay flat to dry in the sun on a dry towel.
Alternatively
Some wraps may call on you to care for them in different, and perhaps unusual ways, to the “normal” washing methods. Listen to your intuition and allow yourself to follow your gut instincts. Seriously, nothing is crazy here.
Some wraps may guide you to take to the river or streams, the ocean or the waterfalls. Do that! I suggest that you put it in a pillowcase or similar cloth bag, to look after the fibres and preserve the work put into making your art piece. I have personally supported one of the wraps to go into the ocean in a cloth bag. Laid out flat after its ocean dip, The owner felt her wrap was cleansed.
Cleansing and clearing what your medicine/ healing wrap is needing could also be as simple as taking it to the beach to be cleared by the ocean air and sunshine. A good smudging, a full moon bathe or a Reiki energy session may be other ways to cleanse and clear any stagnant or unhelpful energies you feel to bring through your medicine tool.
Remember, there are no rules here. Allow Spirit and your inner knowing to guide you to enjoy your medicine wraps invitation and energy.
Much love
